All the functions of the Association are carried out by the Board of Directors. The thirteen Board members are elected for two year terms at the annual meeting which is held in the month of February. The organizational structure of the Board consists of a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Committee Chairpersons and members at large.
The board meets monthly to oversee the day to day activities. One special committee, the Zoning Advisory Committee, acts as a liaison between the Zoning Authority of Chatham County land any other governing authority which might have jurisdiction over Wilmington Park. The Association is strongly committed to the ongoing quality of Wilmington Park and in support of that concept owns and operates the common properties and facilities. Members are invited to attend and participate in all Association activities.
The annual budget is approved at the WPHA annual meeting held in February of each year. The common areas of "The Park" includes 28 mall areas, 5 entrance areas, a pool, 3 tennis courts, a basketball court, a riverfront park, and a riverfront dock for the Association members, all of which require lighting, maintenance, and beautification. In addition, the Association has other expenses which are normally incurred in the course of running a business. Annual dues are assessed to each homeowner to manage these costs.
The total membership meets annually during the month of February to review the past years activities, approve the annual budget for the new year, vote for members of the Board, and vote on future association objectives.
